Deacon George Roland Jr. passed from this life into eternity with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ November 3, 2017. He was born June 3, 1946 to George Roland Sr. and Willie Roland-Campbell in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Deacon received his early childhood education from Attucks School and later attended and graduated from Ponca City High School. He loved to play Basketball and was also in the Boy Scouts. Deacon George then enlisted into the United States Marine Corps. He was sent to fight in the Vietnam War serving our country from 1967 to 1969. George was awarded the Purple Heart along with 2 bronze stars other honorable mentions and medals.

Deacon George loved family and down-home folks. He loved gardening, fishing and watching OU Sooners and USC play football. He kept in touch with loved ones in California, Kansas and Oklahoma. Thanksgiving was his favorite holiday. He really loved the Lord and in his later days he pursued God as if nothing else mattered.

Deacon George Roland Jr. was preceded in death by his father: George Roland Sr., his mother: Willie Roland-Campbell, his stepfather: Rev. DA Campbell and his brother: Rev. Isaiah Roland and his nephew: Kenneth Roland. He leaves behind nephews: Alton Roland, Rev Jonathan Roland (Ethel), Kevin Roland and Issac Roland. Nieces: Rhobbie Dorsey (Alphonso), Angela Bobb (Rev. Joseph Bobb) and Pauletta Machebe (Ben). Along with host of great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and aunts.

Funeral Services will be held at Calvary Hill Church 2225 E. Central Wichita Kansas 67214. Bishop Vincent Mitchell Overseer and Pastor Jonathan Roland Officiating.
