Glenna Ophelia (Bledsoe) Moore was born in Newton, Kansas on December 1, 1921 to Thomas and Beatrice Ella Beldsoe. She attended Newton High School and graduated in 1939. Glenna married the love of her life, Morris Moore on May 26, 1946. They welcomed two children, Morris Duane and Lynnett. She was a dutiful school secretary serving Wichita Public Schools #259 for 30 years. Her loving legacy was felt by children at L’ Ouverture and Beech Elementary. She served as the President of the Wichita Educational Secretaries Association, attending several national conventions where she represented the state of Kansas with distinction. She was a member of St. Paul AME church for more than 70 years, serving as a Sunday School teacher and a stewardess. She was an early member of the Wichita chapter of Jack and Jill of America Inc. and served as the local president. She was devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and joyfully attended their academic, athletic and musical performances.
She is preceded in death by her husband Morris Moore, and son Morris Duane Moore.
Her final services will be on Monday August 12th at St. Paul AME Church.
Viewing will be from 10:00 am – 10:30 am.
The funeral services will begin at 10:30 am and conclude at 11:30 am.
Her final resting place will be at Kansas Veterans Cemetery Winfield.
